TruckSpeak Privacy Policy
Summary
TruckSpeak has no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. Your practice history stays on your phone. Speech recognition runs on your phone by default. If you turn on the optional "Online help", your spoken answers are sent to our server to be turned into text and to write a short coach note, and are not stored. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google.
Microphone and speech recognition
The microphone is used only while you tap it to answer a practice question or repeat a phrase. Your phone's built-in speech recognition turns your voice into text:
- iPhone — Apple's speech recognition. When your iPhone supports on-device recognition, the audio is processed on the device; otherwise Apple may process it on its servers under Apple's privacy policy.
- Android — the speech recognition service on your device (for example, Google's). Depending on your device, it may process the audio on the device or on its provider's servers under the provider's privacy policy.
TruckSpeak uses the recognized text to check your answer and keeps the text of your answers on your device as part of your practice history. Your voice is never used to identify you.
Online help (optional)
Online help is off unless you turn it on (during setup or in Settings › Online help). When it is on and your phone is online:
- Your recorded answer (a few seconds of audio) is sent securely to TruckSpeak's server and passed to our AI provider, OpenAI, only to turn it into text. Neither we nor the app keep the recording.
- The text of your answer, the practice question and your app language are sent to write a short coach note. They are not stored by us.
- OpenAI processes this data for us under its API terms: it does not use it to train its models and may keep it for up to 30 days for abuse and safety monitoring before deleting it.
- With each request the app sends a random installation ID that is not linked to you, used only to apply fair-use limits. Our server keeps daily request counters for this ID for up to two months.
If you answer while offline, the text of the answer waits on your phone and is sent for a coach note when you are back online. Turn Online help off at any time to keep everything on your phone.
Motion and speed (driving lock)
If you turn on the driving lock, TruckSpeak only checks whether your vehicle is moving, so it can pause interactive practice while you drive. On iPhone it reads your phone's motion activity (for example "in a vehicle" or "walking"). On Android it reads your speed from the phone's location, only while the app is open. This is processed on your phone and is never stored or sent anywhere: TruckSpeak does not keep or share your location.
Your practice data
Your scores, the text of your answers, plans, streak and settings are stored in the app's private storage on your phone (and in your own device backups, if you make them). We cannot see them. You can delete them at any time with Settings › Reset my progress, or by deleting the app.
Reminders
The optional daily reminder is a notification scheduled on your phone. No server is involved.
Purchases
The 7-day pass and the subscriptions are bought, billed and managed by Apple through the App Store, or by Google Play. TruckSpeak never sees your payment details, name or account. The app asks the store whether your purchase is active and keeps the answer on your phone.
What we do not do
- No account or sign-in.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or crash-reporting services.
- No tracking across apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing of personal information.
- We never save your voice recordings.
This website
truckspeak.gorich.systems uses no cookies and no analytics. Like any web server, our hosting keeps standard access logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and troubleshooting, and deletes them after a limited time.
Children
TruckSpeak is made for adult professional drivers and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal data, it collects none from children either.
Your rights
Because we do not collect or hold personal information about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side. Your data on your phone is under your control. You can contact us with any privacy question.
Changes and contact
